PRO METAL DONATES EQUIPMENT TO FIRST NATION SCHOOL IN PREPARATION FOR RETURN TO SCHOOL

Pro Metal Industries Ltd., 100% First Nations owned by Pasqua First Nation donated a Portable Field Sink to the Piapot First Nation on Friday July 24th to give back during the Covid-19 Pandemic. The portable sink will be used by the Chief Payepot K – 12 School for use and handwashing when students return to school in September.

The streamlined self-contained portable sink provides a basin hand washing solution both indoors and outdoors. It's compact, extremely lightweight and mounted on rolling casters, so it can be moved to where it is needed. It is a unique solution as it provides on demand hot water which is essential to proper handwashing.

Chief Payepot School is located on the Piapot First Nation approximately 50 KM north of Regina has approximately 230 students registered from kindergarten to grade 12. Nicole Crowe, Principal at Chief Payepot School says “the students are anxious to get back to school and we have been working hard to ensure their safe return. The donation of the sink is very much appreciated and will be part of our increased sanitation measures and the promotion of proper hygiene practices. In addition to that, we are also limiting class sizes and restructuring them, so students have more space. We hope to alleviate any stress that parents may feel when it’s time to send their children back to school.”

“One of our top priorities is our youth and we need to protect them as best we could” explains Chief Mark Fox. “We are grateful for the assistance that Pro Metal Industries is providing us, it shows how much they care about the youth and that’s important.”

During the Covid-19 Pandemic Pro Metal Industries, a full service metal fabrication and supply company, was compelled to pivot the company’s operations to provide tools to reduce the spread. They did this by deploying portable hospitals across Canada, providing essential PPE, hand washing stations and most recently, desk barriers for back to school.

“We are happy to provide this donation to Piapot First Nation and be able to assist in their planning efforts. We are also supplying the Pasqua First Nation with sinks, desk barriers, and other PPE to support the Nations plans for welcoming students back to school in September. This is something we expect to see other First Nation schools and provincial schools undertake, as proper handwashing followed by sanitation is key to keeping students safe. We’re happy to help schools and other businesses with their PPE needs as well. Our goal is to provide easy access to essential and unique solutions, we are a one call solution.” says Mark Brown, President at Pro Metal Industries.
